2011 Mazda CX-7 2.5l

The owner's manual calls for 4 mo./4000 miles (normal usage) or 6 mo./6000 mi (severe usage)for the oil change interval. I only drive about 6000 miles a year. Can I go a full year, or is there a concern about fuel dilution in this DI engine?

That would depend on your driving routine. Short trips are the killer.

Another idea would be to change every 5k. Easier to track. Splits the difference.

5k regardless of time is what I would use.

2.5L is just a port injected engine, not DI engine; 5K is just optimal for this type of the engine, using 5W-20 synthetic oil
