The electronic features and the like don't matter to me, but I like the extra sound deadening and the other techniques that went into making Lexus cars ride so smoothly and quietly.

Well, I'll avail myself of the "Vehicle Locator" feature on the local Lexus dealer's website, and make a connection with their most senior salesman -- he's been there since 1991, can you believe it? Maybe he'll find me something good.

It begins to look like the used car market is in as bad a crunch as it was in 2008 or so when the "Cash for Clunkers" program took so many older specimens off the market.

People are taking out longer car loans as well, and the BHPH lot is on the rise - the used car market is crunched.

You can get quotes on-line, click-click-click.

Good luck.

I left Geico two years ago. They started off great, but bumped my premium up 60% after I banged into a too-high curb on the passenger side where you couldn't see it. AAA was getting ridiculous too. Now I'm with Progressive, and I've got the extortion pain down to a dull throb because I've bumped all my deductibles up. It's this lousy state -- some of the highest rates in the country.

I'll check Costco, though. Do you have to have a membership first?

ETA: Doesn't matter. Like the General and Amica, their insurer, Ameriprise, doesn't operate in this Third-World state.
