2011 Honda crv oil change

2011 CRV. I just started my 3rd oil change of Restore and Protect. The first 2 were 4k OCI. I am going to run this one to 5k. I changed the filter 3 times on the 1st oil change and left original filter on the entire 2nd. There was some metal flakes in every filter that l cut open but it has shown less and less each time. I think counted 3 flecks this time.

Those chunks look like carbon. Valvoline is doing the job.

Agree, looks more like carbon.

In my CRV the metal flakes I found were ferrous, as verified by a magnet. But they showed up very well in the light.

Not sure if this will help: what I do is after slicing the filter open, I grab two or three sheets of paper towel, fold them up, and wrap around the filter. Helps to pull the oil out. Doesn't pull anything trapped in the filter, but if it did, it'd be in the paper towel. Dries out the filter and then I can really look in the pleats. Does require letting it sit over night or a few days, and I guess you could change the towel and really get it dried out, but once seems enough for me.
