I just picked up my new truck. I recently read an article that suggested that I change the oil and filter after 20 miles. What do you think about this idea? I have used Castrol Oil in all my cars for the last 20 years. Would this work in this engine/

you can go 2-3000 miles on the first change. No sense in changing it after 20 miles. The engine will still continue to break in and generate high wear metals.

20 NO, 2000 yes. The Filter better be doing SOMETHING. The engine will be shedding a LOT of stuff for 5000 miles so 20 does not do anything for you - plus any BIG pieces of assembly and casting flash will be trapped in the filter or blocked by the pickup screen.

+1 ARCO. Just plane stupid in MO to dump a factory oil which probably contain assembly lubes and additives to protect the engine during break-in.

Honda recommends not changing the factory fill until the OLM says so (sometimes more than 10,000 miles), now granted this isn't a Honda but i'd highly doubt there's any benefit to changing it at 20 miles. Also, Like Eddie says, there may very well be some special breakin additives in the FF similar to honda's.
