Special thanks to a generous member of the forum who sent me a small sample of Menzerna Power Lock which he noted I had been wanting to try. So today I did the MDX again after applying Collinite 845 about a month ago (ish). I tried two new products today, Auto Finesse Iron Out and the Menzerna Power Lock. The weather was iffy, cloudy with on-and-off fine mist, but it was warm and I wanted to take advantage of the warm temperature to apply products to the finish.
Wheels cleaned with a bucket of wash water and a spray of the Auto Finesse Iron Out. The Iron Out reacted more with the baked-on stuff in the barrels than even my Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner does.
Began with a wash using a combination of Optimum and Dawn dish soap to help cut the layer of Collinite.
Then I sprayed the body with the Iron Out. I was impressed with it. Despite a crummy spray lever the product dissolved some spots which I could see and many more that I could not.
After that I applied the Power Lock. It went on very thin, I was worried it was too thin but I think it's probably OK. It came off easily and left the finish more slick than the Collinite if you can believe that. I may prefer the gloss to Collinite as well but it's not quite as glossy as the P21S 100% Carnauba I also have.
Waxed the wheels with Collinite 845 in hopes that it will help them stay cleaner if/when we have salt and grime on the roads.
Finally the usual finishing with Adam's Invisible Undercarriage Spray in the wheel wells and Adam's Super VRT on the tires and plastic trim.
I'm hoping the Power Lock lasts through winter (which some meteorologists say will be bad this year in the Northeast) and help not only protect the finish but help it shed dirt in a way regular wax wouldn't.

Notes: didn't use Nanoskin Autoscrub because finish was still nearly perfect from doing it a month ago. Second my phone camera has a two reddish/purple artifacts which show up; they aren't on the car.
