Ford should sell a LOT of these!

Hope the engine is as reliable if not better than the original! Would be nice if they used a Mazda 6 cyl or something in it.

Kinda looks Like an Acura from the front.

Sharp for sure!

I still hate huge sills with a passion, but I have to admit I love that Ford clearly is not messing around with this car. I really hope the rest of this car lives up to the statement of intent made by the styling.

Isn't Mazda's V6 a Ford engine with some tweaks?

Very nice looking car. I hope the 3.0 is nowhere to be found on this car. The outgoing five hundred/taurus is a very good vehicle except those that have the weak 3.0.

Mayhaps it will be blessed with the twin-turbo 3.5L ?

What Mazda V6? Mazda has been using Ford Duratecs for a long time now.

The Taurus is using the 3.5L Duratec (Cyclone), and there is an SHO (3.5 TT AWD) too.

That is one sharp car! It looks better from the front than anything I've seen lately.

Now to convince the significant other we need an SHO for hauling kiddies and groceries...

It sucks... its unreliable because its a ford. Buy an accord or camry instead.

j/k

Hopefully it will have a 110 hp 4-cyl diesel... and get 40 MPG.

Easy. SHE needs the Taurus, YOU need the SHO.

I beleive that the Fusion/Milan are on the Mazda 6 chassis and share the same drivetrains. The Ford FiveHundred/now Taurus and the Mercury Monterea/now Sable is currently on the newest Volvo chassis and this one might be a reskinned/tweeked for NVH new Taurus with some drivetrian upgrades. I think that these will be great vehicles for FORD and I hope they are. I like the look! These are the types of vehicles that may bring me back from what I've been driving. Man, that's a good looking car!

Ford helps Mazda with the V6s, and Mazda helps Ford with the 4-bangers.

I believe you are correct. What I really do not understand is why the new Maxda6 has been given the 3.7 liter V-6 and the 2.5 liter 4, when the Ford Fusion has to make do with the 2.3 liter 4 and the old 3.0 liter v-6, except in the Sport model which has been given the 3.5 V-6. The Taurus has a 3.5 V-6 as its only engine; Why has the Maxda6 been given the 3.7, same as the Lincoln?

Pretty much how it works. Although the new 2.5 4-cyl development was led by Ford (though still based on the 2.0/2.3).

Mazda's GDI turbo 2.3 was never installed in the Fusion because it failed Ford's durability tests.
