This is for Jr's 2009 Mazda5. While changing the passenger-side stabilizer-bar end-link, I found play in the outer tie-rod end.

I was pleased to read here that Rock Auto is carrying Sankei 555 front-end parts, but disappointed to not find the 555 part.

Anyway, here are RA's daily-driver listings:

Would AC Delco Gold be the best of the bunch?

Alternatively, another online vendor sells Top Quality and TOR. I don't know much about either. There's an older thread here asking about TOR, but it was inconclusive.

Or should I just bite the bullet and go to the dealer?

Thanks!

Sankei from Partsgeek, or if you don't want to spend that much, Suspensia if you want a castle nut and cotter pin, Delphi if you don't.

Tor and Top Quality are a joke :sneaky:

I know the Mazda5 has a lot of Ford Focus DNA, but I'd be leery trying to cross the part over.
I guess I just mean the factory part from an online dealer. I have a 2009 5, and most suspension parts seem to be branded Ford. My rear dampers were Ford.

I've used a few Canadian tire suspension/steering/brake parts and found they work pretty well, if you are in a pinch. I don't think I've had one fail? But I think the farthest I've gone on them is 100k km, before the car was scrapped or sold.

I can get a better price directly from CTR (which I think supplies Canadian Tire and PartSource), but it's always a gamble - a lot of their front-end parts have grease fittings, which I avoid if possible.

I like to support local vendors, but the advantage of online sellers is I can choose the brand.

I changed out the R-side one only. Not a bad job - had the heater running in the garage, so the temperature limped up a bit above freezing.

The quality of the part was evident - nice casting, no burrs or flashing, and a perfect fit.

I hope you anti-seized the crap out of it :D
