2009 Altima - 4cly

I am currently using a FRAM Extra Guard air filter, not completely happy. I feel there are better filters out there. I do a lot of city driving, stop and go in and out of Boston, Ma. Please help. Any and all recommendations / suggestions are greatly appreciated.

While their oil filters are a different story, I've never had problems with Fram air filters. Seem to be as well-constructed as other filters.

If it was my car I would go with a Tough Guard filter, but there is nothing wrong with the Extra guard, why are you unhappy?

I'd use it with confidence. I used their air filters on my G since I got the vehicle, except for the last switch to Wix thanks to a good deal.

There is better out there, you can get a Purolator PureOne but the Fram cellulose filters are just about as good as any and some I've seen have thicker gaskets than oem.

Try an air filter restriction gauge if you want to extend your interval to get the maximum efficiency out of your filter.

my buddies have been giving me a hard time about using a FRAM air filter but after reading you recommendations, I will stay put. Thank you for helping me out.
