My neighbor has a 2009 Honda Accord 2.4L they're wanting to sell, cheap. Body and interior in good shape, engine sounds fine.
They said the car has a CEL and that it barely goes. I think the CEL put it in safemode.
I briefly checked it out the other day. I checked the codes. P0339 crankshaft position sensor, and three misfire codes p0300, P0302 and P0303
They said they recently had the alternator, starter and battery replaced. Not sure how recent though.
Looking and driving it tonight. Thoughts on what to check first if I buy it?
My first thought is a bad ground, or a junk rebuilt starter that isn't cranking the engine fast enough and causing the P0339. Which could also cause a the misfire codes? Then actually testing crank sensor.
