ODI: 11,038 MILES ARE ON THIS SAMPLE NOT 11,000
INTERVAL DATES: February 1, 2025 - July 12, 2025
OIL USED: 6.5 Qts 5w-40 & 1.50 Qts 0w-40 Mobil FS = 8.00 qts / Fram Ultra XG10415 Oil Filter
OIL ADDED: At 6,800 Miles I Added 0.75 Quart to Full Mark of 0w-40 Mobil FS (due to "Low Oil Level" message on the dash but was still 1/4+ above minimum level)
DRIVING CONDITIONS: 95% Highway/5% City (I live in rural America so I must travel...ha!). 10+ Idle hours w/AC on.

NOTES: A TBN will be posted (hopefully soon). The lab is Predictive Maintenance out of OH & Schaeffers contracts w/them. When I called stating they didn't test for TBN "Jared" claimed that Shcaeffers doesn't do TBN's on Schaeffers UOA kits. That is completely incorrect. Schaeffers has two UOA kits. 919 doesn't include AN/BN test BUT their 928 kits do include AN or BN test result. I sent them a 928 kit. Called on Thursday & still waiting for that to be completed & I will update this thread.

I believe the Fe is slightly higher since lot of idle & I've been blasting the Air Conditioner daily during the summer heat. Would the air compressor put more strain on the engine wear? Still not bad & put in another way the Fe would avg 16.5 PPM for 5,519 miles seems just fine. Oxidation nearing the magical 25 so I can why they have the 10k mileage claim on this oil. Top of list is the latest & lowest is the oldest results. There must be some Sodium filled metals on this engine since it's common to see some in a UOA on these engines. What say the oil crowd?

Hey bud, the iron rate did go up this time. I'm not sure how the idling and A/C use played into it, but one thing we know for sure is the mileage has increased steadily in your three UOAs: from 5800, to 8500, to 11000. I'd drop the next OCI to <10k if it were my car and see what the iron looks like next time. This engine averages 1.5ppm iron per 1k miles according to Blackstone. Our S80 iron has climbed steadily in our UOAs, from 1.5, to 1.9, to 2.1, to 2.4. That has correlated with fewer miles driven and fewer highway miles. Our next UOA will be in October, with a 1 year OCI and roughly 5500 miles. I expect iron to go up again.

Thanks for sharing your results with us!

Probably need to share my spreadsheet here like I do the F-350. You're correct about Fe rates. When I add the total Wear ppm per 1k miles it shows a bit different but that could very well be due to adding oil. You can see that I added 1 qt to the lowest total ppm per 1k reading & the first sample that I never added any oil has the highest total Wear per 1k.

I will most likely take your advice & run this oil out a shorter interval but you can see that in just shy of 5 1/2 months I put on the 11k miles...came quick, ha! I will try to change it sooner & before it gets too cold out this round. I will try & plan for 7,500 miles or less?
