Lower and upper intake gaskets changed along with lower and upper radiator hoses. Had a pesky leak for the longest time. Didn't get a pic with the new lower intake gasket. Word to the wise make sure you put a good bead of RTV on both ends of the head. Also torqueing everything is key with the proper sequence. Hopefully this fixes all my leaks for now as it's a Jeep and will leak something next.

Man, I haven't seen a 3.8 in forever. Those things just disappeared.
Friend of mine has a Chrysler minivan with the 3.8 in it. Has a nice timing chain rattle and the valve cover is leaking. I think it's got something north of 150K on it. He doesn't drive it much. Basically uses it as a on-street mobile storage container, from what I've seen.
I had a 2007 two door Wrangler in rescue green,…I miss that Jeep. I prefer the 3.8 over the 3.6 when it comes down to simplicity. When geared accordingly to what you plan on doing with it, the old 3.8l is more than adequate for a Wrangler IMO. I was very fortunate to have an ‘07 that didn’t consume oil.

No problem. I have 4.88s and with my 33s it's plenty good enough for me. Love the simplicity of the motor as well.
I have a 2008 Rubicon, still have the lifetime powertrain warrantee. They did this same repair for me two years ago. They also replaced the front timing cover and water pump due to a TSB on porous castings on the timing covers. Cost nothing. Gotta love that lifetime warrantee.
