2008 honda CR-V

cant decide between Honda 0W20, Nissan 0W20 or Toyota 0W20. the car specs 5W20. Would it harm it any way to run this oil to 7-8k ocis, year round? and would it be ok to use it even though it specs 5W20 for that year? Id be using a Fram XG 7317. the later models spec 0W20. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

My mom has the same vehicle. She just got it a few months ago and I plan on doing the oil soon.

You can most definitely use a 0w20.

I've narrowed down my choices to 3:

1. Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w20
2. Toyota 0w20
3. MaxLife 5w20

 

[Oil Changer]

1. Mazda 0W-20 SN
2. TGMO 0W-20
3. Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20

Sustina is the top choice but cost and availability knock it off my list.

I would happily run Full Synthetic out to 10k in a petrol Honda CR-V.

But I don't do as much town driving as I used to do.

Agree. Even my '03 Civic recommends 10K for conventional oil.

im stuck between toyota 0W20, honda 0W20, and mazda 0W20. which offers the best protection, and would it be ok to run during a hot louisiana summer, with temps around 95 degrees average, or shlould i go back to 5W20 for the summer?

Those are all great oils and the crv is easy on oil. 7500 is a breeze but use a good oil filter and the fram xg is good but i am partial to pure-one

It's a Honda why not use the Honda oil, I just bought a 2012 Accord, I found the Full Synthetic Honda 0W-20 cheap on line.

Don't know how hot it gets down there, but up here we see temps in the 90s on a regular basis during the summer months. I'd say pick one of the three you mentioned and call it a day. They are all fine oils.
