2008 Audi RS4 w/ 9k miles, 4139 miles on Castrol Syntec 5W40 oil.

Switched to Pennzoil Ultra 5W40 at 9,011 miles

.75 Qt Makeup Oil

60% short trips, 20% stop and go and 20% highway

Eh, not bad, but I think that motor needs something more stout. Good to see you're not getting high fuel dilution with that motor (since it's direct inject).
 
Title is misleading...

Why would any other oil need to be used? Based on the low numbers and viscosity, things are going well.
 
This looks ok, for under 10K miles. still in break in. *shurg* Copper is just gonna be high for a little bit. It seems to have sheared (or fuel diluted) but just beeeeeeeearly out of grade. Still looks ok, but I agree with dparm.

Hoping the Pennzoil Ultra 5W40 will fare a bit better after the next 4k miles. Otherwise, I may look into Motul Ester based motor oils.

Sorry about that.. there was 41XX miles on the Syntec Oil and the total mileage of the vehicle is 9011.

You really can't go wrong with motul, they make a really good set of performers.
