I just quoted OEM ones to a customer, around $1,200-$1,500 a side. Being in California, customers have to use a OEM or CARB approved cat. In the case of the ones I quoted, OEM is the only option. The cats were clogged, the truck won't go above 20mph and will start to misfire like crazy if idling for more than 10 minutes.
what kind of warranty would the OEM parts carry? are you with a ford dealer? thanks for your help on this because with my sister living alone and not having anyone to help out with this stuff, i would like to get the best possible for her not to have to worry about this anymore.
she drives 220 miles round trip at least every other weekend if not more often to help our mom(86 years old and with dementia)
The catalytic converters would be covered under a Federal or California emissions warranty. Replacements are covered under the Ford 2 year unlimited mile replacement part warranty.
in other words, based on federal law, OEM parts have to be warranted for 2 years, correct?
thanks
