2007 Kia Rondo with 2.7 V6. 145K miles.

Friend just purchased. No check engine light but we scanned it for codes. Showing 4 codes, however check engine light is off and scanner also indicates MIL off, which I think are for the 02 sensors. The codes are P2A00, P2A01, P2A03, and P2A04.

We cleared the codes and will check in a few days to see if they come back on.

Thoughts on the potential issue(s) should they return and why it would not be setting the check engine light?

Most likely they reset the codes before selling the vehicle and they just have yet to come back on again. Private sale?

There is actually a TSB on that Kia. Here is that link:https://www.aboutautomobile.com/Technical-Service-Bulletin/2007/Kia/Rondo/Electrical-System-SoftwareAll I did was Google "dtc P2A03 for a Kia" I briefly read the he TSB and it appears to be a software issue. I believe that O2 sensors a considered part of emissins equipment and should have a warranty.

Gimpy1 beat me to it. I think thats the avenue to go down. All those 02 sensor codes at once? ECM. Downstream sensors don't go bad that often.

Yes, update the software before replacing any parts.

$19 if you own a J2534 pass thru. Otherwise prepare to pay 1 hr labor at a dealer.

Thanks for all of the replies. Guess if it comes back we will check with a dealer about the software upgrade.
