This truck is "new to me" (Dodge Ram 3.7 V6), six speed manual. Any problem areas or information about this vintage of Ram or the 3.7 V6 would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nothing that I know of. The 3.7 is a SOHC, 90-degree, quasi-odd-firing v6 based on the 4.7 v8. Its the same engine used in the Jeep Liberty, Grand Cherokee (base engine), Commander (base engine) and Dodge Dakota. All I hear about it is good. The manual is a New Venture Gear, used by both Dodge and GM. Solid piece also.

I can't speak for the transmission, but I have a 3.7L in an 08 Liberty and so far so good!
The 3.7L V6 is based on the Venerable 4.7L V6 so you shouldn't have any major trouble with it. Another one of Chrsylers nice sounding engines

a nice solid, unexciting engine that uses WAY too much fuel. my Durango with the awesome Hemi uses only a little more fuel than my old liberty! and my 5.2L grand cherokee gets the same MPG as my old lib/ but once again, A nice solid, reliable and durable engine.

2k6 Dakota work truck had one. Completely gutless and uneventful to drive, but it did not cause any problems either.
The 4.7 on the other hand, nice sound, good acceleration.. Much better! (in a 2k7 Dakota)
