I am not at all trying to stir this thread again. I just wanted to say that I bought a new 07 Camry XLE V6 a couple of weeks ago. The Owners Manual for the "07" on page 380 and 381 says:quote:

I bought a new 2006 Camry LE 4 cylinder the end of February. The manufacture date is January 2006. The owner's manual specifies 5W-30 oil for all conditions. It says that 10W-30 can be used if necessary but should be changed back to 5W-30 at the next oil change. However, the oil filler cap say 5W-20 or 0W-20! How is that for mixed signals?
Oil Grade: ILSAC multigrade motor oil
Recommended viscosity:
2.4L 4-cylinder (2AZ-FE) engine SAE 5W-20 or 0W-20
It goes on to say:
"SAE 5W-20 or 0w-20 engine oil may be used. However, SAE 0W-20 is the best choice for good fuel economy and good starting in cold weather."
For the 3.5L V6 (2GR-FE) engine SAE 5W-30
It goes on to say:
"Sae 5W-30 is the best choice for good fuel economy and good starting in cold weather."
"If SAE-5W-30 is not available, SAE 10W-30 may be used. However, it should be replaced with SAE 5W-30 at the next oil change."
Again, I am just saying what the "07" manual says. My wife just got back from a 900 mile road trip and she averaged 32.05 MPG with this car. It had about 650 miles on it when she left. She drove the posted speed limit (Usually 70 MPH) and it was all Interstate except for about 35 miles.
I am going to change the oil soon and I guess I will try to replace it with what Toyota had in it from the factory and then switch to Mobil 1 5W-30 later. Does anyone know what oil comes in it from the factory?
Also, the oil capacity for the 07 V6 is 6.4 quarts with a filter change. Thanks.
