Hi all, ~169k miles on my 2006 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V with 2.5 liter engine. Oil is Valvoline Maxlife Full Synthetic, API SP 5W30. 3.8k miles on oil.

Lucas upper cylinder lubricant was used on most gas fillups on this oil run, I was curious to see the effects regular upper cylinder lubricant use.

Why the Lucas additive? Besides moly didn't seem to show up on the UOA. I have a new to me 06 1.8. I'm running a few 3k OCI with ST 5-30 to clean up what I don't know! I might just to a UOA for fun.

I tried the Lucas additive because it's an upper cylinder lubricant that claims to add lubrication to the upper cylinder; I wanted to test to see if wear numbers would go down,

This is Valvoline Max Full Synthetic API SP formulation; This version seems to have more Moly and less Boron compared to the API SN Plus version, among some other changes.

Did you add any additive that contains moly? Does Lucas upper cylinder lubricant contain moly?

Good reports!
Are all UOA samples VML?...synblend(RED bottle) or fullsyn(SILVER bottle)?
I'm surprised to see that even the Valvoline SN had >1000ppm of Zinc. I thought(from other UOAs) that the last of the >1000ppm of Zinc ended w/SL GF-3?

I did not add any moly additives, and as far as I know Lucas UCL contains no moly but I'm not 100% sure. I do however, have another sample with Valvoline ML FS 5w30 without the fuel additive and it had the same moly number, I guess Valvoline pumped up the moly count to help meet the API SP and GF6 specifications.

All UOA samples are Valvoline Maxlife Full Synthetic, silver bottle. The most recent sample is the only API SP formulation though. I think the other two are both API SN plus.

Ah, sorry those zinc numbers are wrong - should be 766 for the 134.1k sample and the 122.3k sample was at 813, so seems like zinc stayed constant throughout these years.
