I need input from the Forum on oil recommendations for a 2006 Scion TC - mosty a 10 mile trip in traffic to and from work. Live in Phoenix - it is now 105F plus temps now. Thanks in advance. Car has 700 miles on the clock.

I would switch to a synthetic blend or synthetic oil after your 1st oil change. My personal recommendation would be Mobil Clean 7500...make sure to follow the recommended oil grade for your engine.

At 5,000 miles and after every 5K mi. after, use this recipe:

Mobil 1 10w30
Any good quality oil filter (Toyota OEM, Supertech, Wix)

Change oil and filter every 5,000 miles and you should be golden

Happy motoring! Enjoy the car... I'm waiting for an 2006 Scion xB myself

Make sure you change your oil filter on your first service, where you live i would use Havoline 10w30 all year long no need for 5w30 in your climate. You will never see an increase in fuel milage with 5w30 vs 10w30 where you live.

Can I use the Camry Filter OEM (1004) filter instead of the Scion OEM filter on this car?

Mobil 1 10w30 and a toyota or denso first time fit filter.

Will be about the best combo you can get for a toyota engine.
