you do know that even though it says "ford" what you got under says "international" right?

Those 6.4's are no DT 466's you know.

[censored].

wait for the new chevys and dodges to come out. they will fall to the ground the minute they get off that lot.

This is all i'm trying to say.
If you will stop bashing ford for the 1 bad truck they sold, i will do the same for dodge/chevy.

What is "flemsy"? Have you heard of punctuation?

Why did they go out? Did they change the oil with cheap dino for 10,000 miles? Was it abused?

Let me ask you this... has that chevy been 100% trouble free?

as for Cheap flemsy unreliable junk, my 1993 F-150 w/ 5.0 302 has 81,000 trouble free miles.

my 1992 Lincoln towncar w/4.6 has 150,000 miles.

my 1990 Ford 7.3 w/ 165,000 miles couldn't be better.

whats going on?

My county almost went broke because of the Dodge Hemi Chargers they bought...They have since went back to the CVPI.

I put 300K miles on a 88 Town Car [5.0] and over 200K miles on a 99 [4.6] Grand Marquis...I also bought a 99 [4.6] Crown Vic that had 150K miles on it and sold it at 230K miles...It was running just fine when I sold it...Those cars just a regular Ford maintenance.

You would need a Swiss bank account to do that with a Chrysler product.

when I was out looking for a small used pick up to drive for work, I limited myself to ford, dodge and chevy, and that was due to my budget.

what I discovered in my search, was the mileage wasn't much different with a v-6 in the ranger, S-10, or dakota then there full sized counter parts.

In my case fuel mileage was important so i went with a S-10, because I couldn't find a ranger in my price range.

Hope that helps some.

My 05 isnt a bad truck. Since I've had it though (8 months) the rear sway links needed repairing, front right lower ball joint, oil pan seal, the front crank shaft seal, and now the front left lower ball joint is starting to make noise. It does have close to 100k on it though, but it runs and drives like it has less than 50k. Would I buy another one? Definetly. I think they look awesome, and they are very reasonably priced right now because no one wants a gas-hungry vehical. But I dont mind averaging 17, I just dont think about it. My only recommendation would be; try and find a quad cab it you want people to sit back there on a regular basis. The back seat in my quad cab is still a little tight just because Im over 6ft tall so I need the seat pretty far back. I would never go back to anything less than a quad cab, but thats just me. Good luck!

I like the overall truck enough, but I find the 3.7 to just be so uninspiring. I've driven a 2k6 with V6, and a 2k7 (currently at work) with a 4.7. I would go with the 4.7 in a heartbeat, even with the worse gas mileage, that is a way better engine to drive. (Sounds awesome too) Anyways the one you're seeing is a V6, so if you still want that, go for it, I just find it too underpowered.

FWIW, I much prefer Pre-2005 Daks.. I love 02-04 (Some interior and exterior upgrades over previous years) and would consider buying one price being right.

Troy, just let the guy troll along.....

My Barber has an 06 Quad with 3.7. He likes it, with no issues at all. It's a gas hog, but he loves being able to use it for trips to Lowe's....and he's loaded it up too.

I have never personally driven the 3.7, but the EPA only differs about a mile per gallon in both city and highway. The only bad thing about the 02-04 dodge 4.7s were sludge problems. I know it was with dodge 4.7l, Im not sure what exact years they had the problems but I know it was fixed by 2005.

Sidenote: its sad because the Dakota V8 puts out 235hp, and the Toyota Tacoma is putting out over 260hp from their V6. Just thought I would add that in there. The Dodges suck alot of gas for how much power they (dont) put out compared to the other guys. The Toyotas are a little pricey though.

The turbodiesels used the in the ford superduty up till now have been International Harvester sourced engines. The new one in the 2011 is a Ford designed and built engine.
