Anyone know the part that needs replaced to stop this? I noticed that randomly while driving my lit up green D on the gauge cluster will glitch off momentarily. At first I thought maybe the ignition module was going or something key related to the key since the car's got some serious miles on it at this point. But then I was able to duplicate it by wiggling around the automatic shifter since it has a little bit of play.
I'm worried about what I don't know that I don't know. I'm thinking maybe if there's an issue with something connected to the gear shifter that the transmission at some point might not realize it's in drive and will leave me stranded. I'd like to replace whatever might be wrong preemptively. Mileage aside I'm sure I've put quite a bit of extra wear and tear on this shifter bc I am often shifting it manually or pulling between D3 and D. This is the 5speed auto that had a bad rep. By 06 Honda had it sorted. It's a great transmission and has stood up to a lot of abuse from the V6, thing shifts so crisp. 240k on it.
