Greetings,
This car has had a steady diet of dealer oil changes at the maintenance minder intervals. Runs like a champ.

I bought it a year ago and have used PP and PYB at 6 to 7k mile oci's with a Supertech filter each time. With all of the positive feelings going around about QSUD on here, you guys think that this would be worth the extra few bucks over PYB?

IMO... if the engine is running well and you like the car and plan to keep it, spend a few extra dollars on QSUD (or any other synthetic for that matter) and run it for intervals of 7500 miles. I would also spend a couple extra dollars and get a better filter.

Over here on LI Wally has QSUD at $20 or so I think PYB is near that at around $15 -17 OR SO. Makes it a no brainer. Also Advance has a mir deal that comes out to about $13 on PYB with a filter. So you gotta weigh it. With a car like yours the QSUD would be my choice.

QSUD is no doubt a higher quality oil...doesn't cost that much more.

If you have an AAP near you you can score PP and a K&N oil filter for $23.99 with the $7 MIR. That would be extra good protection.

QSUD would be my choice of the two.....and with an OCI of 7500+/-.

But IMO...you need to upgrade your filter. I would suggest a... Purolator PureOne....which is a good mid-tier filter... and a favorite here at BITOG ("best bang foor the buck"). I believe there is a good rebate going on right now. Check out www.pureoil.com

It probably doesn't matter.
Were it my car, I'd use QSUD and a better oil filter, but that's just me.
Does a Grp III oil really do anything for your engine that a Grp II doesn't?
The honest answer is that I don't know.
Still, for the very small marginal cost over the life of an OCI, I'd be inclined to spring for QSUD.
I would absolutely use a better quality oil filter, without regard to the oil used.
The Puro Classic is priced about the same as the ST.
Why use the ST?

Yeah with a 7.5k OCI I would feel more comfortable using the QSUD to protect your investment. A small amount of money to get a superior oil and peace of mind.

Simple answer...I grab it instead of Fram in WallyWorld. I much prefer a PureOne filter and will pick one up if I catch a sale whenever I am in AutoZone or AAP. I try to keep the OCD in check though and choose the ST filter as I know it's' good enough'.

Anyone else browse the oil aisle...just to 'see'? Lol

Same here... Last night while we're in Wally worlds, my girlfriend asked me why I keep on checking the oil secions when I don't need any oil.
I didn't know what to say to her.

Oh back to the topic, I have the same car as OP does, is about to change the oil, have been using PP and Motorcraft back and forth, but now the MC is selling for $18+, and PP is at $25, granted PP has a $5 rebate, but my Wally has no more 5W20 in stock. So i may just pick up a PYB with filter deal at Pepboys instead.
