2004 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 2.7L

I bought this truck new in Jan of 04 and have not had one single problem with it.
But I would like to know if I should expect anything will happen.
There is almost "no" mention of this engine on the board or just about anywhere else on the web.
Does anyone know a good site with info on thing s to look for or what others are saying?
Is this engine good on oil? I change it about 5000 or 6 months. Sees almost no city driving. But I usually sit idle with the A/C on for 25 minutes in the morning before clocking into work (it's hot and humid here).

Probably not a factor if truck has always been south but if not,ring test your frame (between rear spring shackles and motor mount)to test it's integrity. Here's a link if you want to know more, scroll to frame issue.

I've got a '00 Tacoma, 4x4, manual with the 2.7. I agree with you, very little information on this board or others about general maintenance or OCI information. Over the next year I'll hopefully be putting up some UOAs on here, from what I've seen of it so far (only owned it 3 months) it should be good to go 8-10K miles based on the amount of oil it burns.
