Yes an oil change cost me @$91 (plus make-up oil and 1 filter at 25K) but so?? For 40K OCI's what a deal! 3K oci people would have at least 12 oil changes in that time and at what cost (and time)??

Don't worry, you didn't start the M1 thing, a couple of other guys did. All I was trying to find out was how many primary and secondary filters were used in a 32K oil run. Amsoil products are one of the better out there, and it certainly shows in your case. How many miles do you intend to put on this engine?

My Last S-10 (1992- 4.3) I traded in with 323K on the odometer. I only traded it in because Chevy quit making them so I bought the last one! The engine was still leakless and even had the original a/c compressor! The 2003 has been just as good as I have 208K and only replaced the spark plugs/wires/cap, alternator (niosy) and fuel pump (low pressure) so I am pleased with the truck. I will take this to at least 400K as I have 2 teenagers now and I have no money!!

It is not expensive if you do it yourself and it is not that hard. Is it fun? No, but it is possible to do yourself.
