I can interject some data.

I have a F355B that I obtained at 22K miles. It now has 42K iles on it at least 4K miles have taken place on road race tracks. The previous winter when we did a major service on it, it had perfect leakdown and compression numbers. This particular engine has at least 20 minutes* of time between redline (8500RPM) and redline+500 (9000RPMs). However, since arriving in my hands, it has not been above 3000 RPMs until the oil temps has reached 140dF.

Unfortunately these cars are rarely driven. When they are taken out they are pressed hard without a warm-up and otherwise left to rot, too bad.

And for seldom driven cars, not only do you need to let the oil warm up, but also give some extra time to outgas any accumulated water vapor. This requires some restraint for the first 20 minutes or so. {The tires also need to warm up and relax from their long period of stasis.}

i take mine out and blast it, but only after a full warm up. As far as I can tell the car just does not care.

I run the snot out of mine on a regular basis.

[*] not continuously above redline, but the total accumulated time above redline.
