There are some other defects: bubbling/depressions at some parts and another "crow's foot" w/o the crow's foot pattern (just a "cut" in the paint).

I doubt Ford will repaint the entire van seeing how they only repainted the hood the last time (paint on the hood was delaminating).

How do I get them to repaint the entire van? Start up a class action lawsuit? It is about 5-6 months away from being out of warranty.

Many 2003-2004 Mercury Marauder owners are experiencing the same types of defects with the black paint.

That being said-is it still under warranty? If so it might be time to take it to arbitration.

I can't speak exactly for Ford, but most car companies when it comes to paint/finish, only cover rust through....somehow there are loopholes when it comes to finishes. I hope I'm wrong and Ford makes good, but I just doubt you'll get a NEW van, that's all.

Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like a crack in the clearcoat. Probably the beginnings of clearcoat failure. How to sue Ford for that, I dunno, but I'd look for some kind of precedent from other owners.

It's on the paint. Ford seems to have dropped the ball with black paint for 2002-2004. If you have a vehicle between those years with black factory paint, I'd recommend you look it over. So far mostly Crown Vic / Marauder owners have complained about defects and my E-250 has gone to the dealership ONCE already to repaint the hood. Hopefully i can get them to repaint the entire van, if not, just the side. Two more paint-related repairs and I can use the lemon law to get a new van.

I doubt it.

So how does the lemon law work? I thought it was 4 times into the shop for the same type of repair? My 7th grade teacher got a new vehicle out of the Lemon Law in NJ.
