2003 dodge ram 3500 differential picture

2003 Dodge Cummins with NV5600.

150,000 miles on what we think was factory fill. Replaced with Amsoil severe gear 75w90. Also changed the front differential with the same juice. We did our second change on the NV5600 with Amsoil MTF. It had 50,000 on it.

I'm used to seeing a polished spot in the teeth on the ring gear showing that it's engaging the pinion gear in the right spot. In your picture there doesn't appear to be any polished spots. Your ring and pinion might be missing each other entirely. Have you been noticing a complete lack of motive power at all lately?

It must be the angle of the photo, there is definitely no lack of motive power in this truck.

Anything in there is OEM.

If you look closely you can see it. About 1/2" back from the end of the crown. Looks like a shiny square.
Amsoil severe gear is great stuff. I used to use it in my Harley's transmission. Then I found redline gear oils.
