Ran a bottle of Redline SI-1 fuel system cleaner during this interval, looks like it didn't hurt anything.

Looks strange that the TBN would be 1.9 in 3000 miles....other than the slightly high (but still fine) iron all looks well. On the thin side.

Lemme see, 11ppm x 5.....55

the 15K interval was 56 PPM....I dunno, guys....I just don't think it works this way.

Pablo do you really want to compare an unknown oil to Amsoil. I chose to use 7500 times two for a reason. First the recomended OCI while under warranty for all but sever usage is 7500 miles or 6 months. Two I am less like to get huge amount of deviation doubleing as compared to multipleing a small number 5.

JohnBrowning - I was only kidding, that's why I put the

in. However, it is of interest to see these Toyota low Fe throwing engines to have blips for reasons that would be interesting to study.

Pablo, I am glad to see you were kidding!!! If I had to guess I would go with high sulpphur fuel in conjunction with longer time to get up to operateing temp because of cold temps. I really have no idea though!! It seems to me that Toyota's really do not like the S2000 series oils at all!! THis is strange because they seem to do well with M1 and Redline wich are completely oposite in terms of formulation! To date the only oils that have not impressed me in Toyota's are Royal Purple 5W30 & 10W30,S2000 0W30 and Synergens 5W20.

Strange,
check the comment that seems to imply that the universal avarages on the report are derived from 149 1.8 Toyota engines. Or maybe I misread the comment...
I would consider 11 ppm Fe in 3000 miles acceptable but on the high side in this particular type of engine. I got 4 ppm in 5000 miles (10W30 Kendall dino my dealership uses).
With this low TBN figure, I would not use this kind of oil. What oil was this?

Strange that they would recommend 5K mile interval next time with this TBN of 1.9 after 3K miles.

Anyway - nice report.
