Changed the valve cover gasket (or cylinder head cover gasket as Honda calls it) on my 2003 Honda Accord 2.4L. Used Honda OEM gasket ($18) but kept the same grommets and spark plug gaskets since the were in good shape. Pleased to see no sludge and only varnish on the valve cover. Some wear on the cam lobes though. Car has 146k miles and mostly various brands of conventional oil @ 5-6k OCIs. Some dirt did fall in when I took the cover off. Should I change oil early? I'm about 3.5k since last change. So far no leaks! Enjoy the pics. [Linked Image] [Linked Image] [Linked Image] [Linked Image]

The oil filter will catch the debris, not too big a deal. The burnishing of the cam lobes is normal, but I've seen less for an engine with your mileage. It will still be a long lasting engine.
