Good report! Copper looks high even for an LS1 but I would not worry about it, it will drop.

Can you give us a little history of the car? We have a few good LS1 threads going on right now.
It this the 1st Redline interval? You should stick with Redlind to see what happends. Seem that Redlind takes a few changes to show reall well so this could be the best oil for a LS1 but we need a few OCI to conferm this. Nice car by the way!

Not too bad at all! Iron and lead will probably come down on the next interval too, as Redline tends to show lower wear on the second and third intervals. Stick with it, so far so good!

Copper is nothing to be concerned about as it's not causing wear on anything else, and it will get lower with each interval. So by the time you hit 50k, it'll be in the single digits.

Thanks. The car was modified by **** Guldstrand (the former Corvette racer). It has headers, Katech stage II heads and cam, an ASP pulley, a cold air induction system, and a few other things. It is driven on a daily basis. However, it is driven mainly on the highway. Even if I have a short trip, I drive on the highway if I can.

For the first 10,600 miles, I used M1 10w30. Then I switched to Redline. The report is from the second Redline oil change. The car never used a single drop of oil when I used M1. However, it began to eat Redline. It used 1 quart for the first 3,000 mile oil change and 1 and 1/2 quarts for the second 3,000 mile oil change. I think it is because I used synthetic oil for the rinse cycle when I first used Auto-rx.

I called Frank and he has given me customized instructions. I am now using Castro GTX (4qts 10w30 and 2 and 1/2 20w-50) with 12 oz. of Auto-rx. I am impressed with this oil. So far so good. After the rinse cycle, I will use GC.

**** Guldstrand modded your Camaro!!!!! You have a collector now!!!!! Mr. Guldstrand was on Monster Garage this past season when they turned a Stingray in to a 4x4 mudder, it was cool! Does your car have any of the piston slap noise or knocking/diesel type nioses that most LS1's make? If so did Guldstrand have any Idea what might be causing these problems?

SSDude,
Good report! Copper is really high, but as many other reports have shown, including mine, this is a GM thing. The ARX you are running now will clean up all the factory residue and subsequent reports will begin to look better and better. It would be interesting to see Red Line after your ARX treat. I am now running the GC stuff and can't wait to compare it against my brew of M1 and #132.

My car does not have piston slap. I headed that GM changed the rings for 2002. I do not know if this is true. I will ask **** about the piston slap issue when I seem him again.

I bought one of the last 2002 Z28's and it was rebuilt at 12,000 miles because of piston slap and knocking issues. It was covered under warranty. It still knocks and makes noise but oil consumption is down to almost 0 and my last UOA showed wear dropped a lot and copper more then in half to 54 ppm.

and please let us know what **** think or knows about the knocking problems with the LS1! Thanks a lot!!!!!
