Mostly got this done to check for antifreeze in the oil.

Copper is normal for this engine, mine was even higher and gradually decreased over the miles, still high after 50,000 miles ( well, high 30s/ppm) for me but was coming down every UOA. IMO this is nothing to worry about for this engine. Blackstone should have known this.

Silicon and iron are great so you are not getting excessive wear from dirt or other contaminants, IMO this is normal

Awesome, thanks for the insights guys.

It had 14,000 miles on it when I got it in 2007...(!)

I changed the coolant to Peak Global last summer. I was very concerned about the coolant when I got the car. Seems to be OK though.

How does the G05 ward off any leaks ?

Looks really good. Hopefully copper is just lingering 'break-in' on a 'tight' engine...I love the add-pack in that FS dino!

What did you replace this fill with?

Another of Formula Shell... I got a case at Costco.

I'm going to try some HM oil next and see if it does anything for the consumption, but if it doesn't, I'm planning to go back to the Shell.

I believe he's referring to the stock Dexcool's ability to eat through the intake manifold gasket on these cars. There is a class-action settlement from GM on this issue (I think the site is dexcoolsettlement.com).

Indeed.

After doing a lot of reading on the subject, even though I personally haven't had issues with Dexcool other then these stupid gasket leaks, there is indeed something wrong with these OAT 2EH coolants. Ford even tested them and found they had gasket/plastic softening issues and that's why they went with GO5.

Hi

This is my last UOA on my LS.

G-05 is a hybrid coolant without the plasticizer 2-eha that OAT coolants like dex and posibly Peak contain. If Zerex G-05 isnt available, use Mopar "Long Life" or Ford's "Gold".

Here are the LIM gaskets on my Regal when I bought it at 56k miles:

Here is the block just after gasket removal:

For replacement gaskets, USE ONLY GM ALUMINUM LIM gaskets and the APN UIM with the SS EGR sleeve.

Looks like a nice report. It's a great oil, especially when it in on sale. I'd have NO issue using this for 4-5k OCI in my car. I've been alternating between QS, YB, and FS. Only problem is FS is MORE than QS right now, because I cannot get FS at WM.
