Hello all. I am following the reset procedure to the letter. The PASS KEY light has to turn off after 10 minutes of flashing and this must be repeated 3 times. In my case the light keeps flashing indefinitely well past the 10 minute mark and does not turn off like it should. It will flash forever and I can't risk running the battery down.
I have tried 2 VATS keys with the same cut and resistance value to no avail. Leaving the battery unhooked overnight did not change anything either after I reconnected it and tried to start it again. I have no means of taking the ignition switch or steering column out to inspect for broken wires. I am completely lost and have very little electrical repair and troubleshooting experience.
