Potassium?

Looks like you are getting more fuel than what this lab is showing based on low flash point and viscosity. Tad low. Strong Tbn though.

Is this just a short interval before using the SSO to really stretch things out? If not, I dont quite understand why the short interval. K and Si seem elevated, but I posted a VOA of SSO some time back - its best to refer back to that, as it may be nothing.

Fe is higher than Id like to see in a well-broken in engine using a top notch oil for 3k miles, however, that is really splitting hairs, as here is nothing bad about a reading of 6 ppm. Its just that on a basis of "per 1000 miles" it is higher than Id like to see.

I would run any cheap SM oil in this car with that kind of mileage. Wasting a lot of money on an expensive oil don't you think?

buster, I replaced the fuel pressure regulator just after the last UOA. I noticed that when I changed the oil last week, the smell of gas was gone. I notice that the TBN increased from 6.5 to the higher level it is now. Perhaps you're right about some gas being in the oil, but it is much lower now. What do you think of the ISO Code? Gotta love the EAO filter!

Waste is a relative term. One man's waste in another man's necessity. I need the best oil I can buy to feed my obsessive compulsive personality.

I hear you brother. You are not alone.

Tbn is up from last. The good thing is the Tbn is very strong so it does have a lot of life left in the oil.

buster,
One of the reasons for doing the series of UOA's is to get my engine in shape for doing extended OC's. It looks like I can begin moving out to 4,000 miles for the next one. I left the same EAO on the engine without draining the contents. The oil is so clean anyway, I don't think it would have mattered much if I had.

A brand new AFE Pro Dry S. The Pro Dry S I took out gave a 3 and 5 PPM Silicon according to two different UOA's. This low Silicon level was only achieved after a 3,000 mile run. The original run with the older AFE, showed a 13 PPM Silicon reading initially, and went to the afore mentioned 3 and 5 PPM on subsequent UOA's.

FZ1, 5K is my intermediate goal. I feel that it is something I have to build back up to. It looks like the gas in the oil issue is under control, but there is still a Potassium problem. I elected to address the Gas issue first due to the negative effect it was having on my TBN and viscosity. I considered that a much more serious problem.
Now, I am going to attack the coolant in the oil to try and get it where I want it.

After viewing the SSO VOA, I can see that it already contains iron and Silicon. I wonder if that's by design or it's just contamination. Perhaps the new filtering system Amsoil recently instituted will remove any unwanted elements.

buster,
How's things going with the Accord and the SSO? Still losing oil? I went through a similar thing when I switched from Castrol
5W-30 GTX. The oil burnig issue was eventually resolved after a couple of Amsoil changes. Do you plan to stick with SSO to see if your Accord does the same?
