Own a 1991 Honda Civic Si (D16A6).

Was about to install a new genuine head gasket for a D16A6 but I came across Civic forums that recommend using a D16Y8 head gasket for my engine. It is recommended to use a metal 3-layer head gasket. The Y8 is supposed to increase compression a tad bit. Only .005 inches was removed from the engine block to get it flat. A used head with a flat surface, that's never been milled, will take the place of the original warped head.

My question is, wouldn't the use of a thicker gasket depend on how much was removed (milled) off the engine block and the head itself?
Should I pick up a A8 head gasket or use the Genuine Honda gasket that I already have?

Any advice is greatly appreciated
