That looks very clean. Would be very hard to find one in that condition here. Enjoy using it.

It's built tough like a tank but buying some parts would be a problem. I have a 1984 pickup I ended up buying a Weber Carb because I can't find a carburetor repair kit on an OEM Hitachi Carb. Emissions have been deleted as a result of this. I hope you'll enjoy yours as I do to mine.

Luckily this has a variant of the Bosch fuel injection that was on everything so I'm pretty familiar by association. I may install Megasquit in the future.

I've got the week off and have a couple of projects. Need to mount my tool boxes. Going to rotate the spare in and give it a tune up. A couple of gaskets (most of them) and manual Aisin hubs. I found a set of hub caps but need to open up the front pair.
Started on getting my Packout mounts in yesterday... need to paint the deck I made and pick up some hardware.

Gutless, an LS swap would be perfect for it. My 84 S-15 Jimmy 4x4 V6 I had in the late 80s was slow but it would run circles around those Isuzus.

New front bearings and seals
Cleaned and re-greased front auto hubs.
Hub caps installed on rear wheels.
I will try to get the valve adjustment and timing done on Monday. I also need a 3.5" holesaw to open up the last two hubcaps.

Or…. Oooo here we go…. Old VW or Volvo (VW-sourced IIRC) diesel. Mmmm so good.
Too old and they don't have enough ass to move a 3500lb SUV.
An ALH would move it very well though.
All 4 hub caps (finally) installed. I'll put the Aisin manual hubs on after I get some new front axles. One was damaged and the circlip groove was ground off.
Still need to do the valve adjustment. It's been sitting in the garage waiting. Maybe I'll refinish the valve cover with some wrinkle black while it's off.
I also picked up some old school retina roasters for the front bumper. Going to try and have them on today.

Don't be surprised if the valve lash is all within spec even if they sound a little clatter-y. I've owned a few Isuzu's and never had a valve that required adjustment even when they sounded like they did and had a fair amount of miles.
I'm only checking it because I'm not the last person that did it, know what I mean?
