That looks very clean. Would be very hard to find one in that condition here. Enjoy using it.
It's built tough like a tank but buying some parts would be a problem. I have a 1984 pickup I ended up buying a Weber Carb because I can't find a carburetor repair kit on an OEM Hitachi Carb. Emissions have been deleted as a result of this. I hope you'll enjoy yours as I do to mine.

Luckily this has a variant of the Bosch fuel injection that was on everything so I'm pretty familiar by association. I may install Megasquit in the future.
That's really sharp! Love the color combo on that one.Saw this today and remembered this thread.

Too much. Not my style.Gutless, an LS swap would be perfect for it. My 84 S-15 Jimmy 4x4 V6 I had in the late 80s was slow but it would run circles around those Isuzus.
A tappy tappet is a happy tappet!I love the tappet-y sound of those inline fours.
Or…. Oooo here we go…. Old VW or Volvo (VW-sourced IIRC) diesel. Mmmm so good.Too much. Not my style.
Maybe a VW 1.8t.
Too old and they don't have enough ass to move a 3500lb SUV.Or…. Oooo here we go…. Old VW or Volvo (VW-sourced IIRC) diesel. Mmmm so good.
I'm only checking it because I'm not the last person that did it, know what I mean?Don't be surprised if the valve lash is all within spec even if they sound a little clatter-y. I've owned a few Isuzu's and never had a valve that required adjustment even when they sounded like they did and had a fair amount of miles.
Smart move!I'm only checking it because I'm not the last person that did it, know what I mean?
