Where did you hear this number? I have worked with GM on various valvetrain projects over the past 6 years, and they do not allow sliding contact stresses this high in production engines.
A_Harmen I would like to provide my sources, but rest assured that neither are in good standing with GM especially both are quite frank and both have I do not care attitude. But the information is available. A lot "OEM" parts makers that provide parts for older GM V8's like to advertise this standard also.
