Nice! 1976 and Lap belts only? Maybe an exception because it is a convertible or the design was unchanged for ~8 years? Sure that thing isn't RWD? FWD doesn't seem right

Red's ok for that For Big Enus / Little Enus look but I agree with @skyactiv, needs to be in white a-la Boss Hogg

FWD ala Toronado was stout enough to haul around a motorhome.

This subject brings back a sad memory for this 76 Cadillac which was buried with its owner back in 1989.

I believe it was the last year of the convertible as the Auto Manufacturers were afraid that convertibles would be outlawed due to the risk of fatalities during rollover crashes. This led top the t-tops of the late 70's early 80's. Many were bought and put away hoping for a windfall down the road which never planned out. Same with the 1978 Pace Car Corvettes a ton were put away with zero miles

My '79 DeVille has that same mirror mounted thermometer. Unfortunately, mine is stuck at 80 degrees....

Even with 500 inches it's acceleration is measured with an hour glass. Low compression, retarded cam timing, very mellow cam profile,lazy mechanical advance along with a very fast set of differential gears.

No kidding... even with a 425 and a 4 bbl my DeVille is slow as molasses. That being said, it'll roast the (tire) from a dig without even trying. How they managed to get 170 horsepower from 425 cubes is beyond me, but I do love the torque! 60-80 MPH passing comes relatively quick, without so much as a downshift from 3rd.

I appreciate a time warp original, no matter what. This is nice, grotesque, but it was the 70's and needs to be seen through that lens. I could see a space for that in a fleet.
