Ran across this on this cherry Elvis mobile on CL. 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Touring 500 CI (8.2 L) FWD 19K miles and in Orange. If I had the garage space I would like to buy it just for kicks.

Awesome! That's a hunk of metal or blast from the past. I had a 1998 ETC, obviously not the same but, these were cool cars of their era. Anyone have any specs on that 8.2L? I didn't know they put anything like that in any of them.

Even with 500 inches it's acceleration is measured with an hour glass. Low compression, retarded cam timing, very mellow cam profile,lazy mechanical advance along with a very fast set of differential gears.

Nice! 1976 and Lap belts only? Maybe an exception because it is a convertible or the design was unchanged for ~8 years? Sure that thing isn't RWD? FWD doesn't seem right

It is in superb shape but I doubt it has 100,000'ths place on the odometer so it could be 118k.

It is hard to imagine a '76 Eldorado with <19k miles on it. Who did that back then? People drove their Cadillac.

The interior definitely suggests that the low mileage is correct. And the body is super straight, but I really don't think that is an original '76 Cadillac color. I don't remember anything like that, so I found an original 1976 Cadillac exterior color chart. The only thing close was Firethorn (36), and it is a much deeper red, so the car has been resprayed, and by the looks of it, fairly recently.

That would be a fun car to own.

Acceleration, yes. Style and class, not even the nicest Kia would be anywhere close. Oh, and the Kia? Unlike the Eldorado, it won't be around in 50 years.
