So did you get the electrical problems taken care of?

I'm not sure how a Frankencar procedure would be written up in the maintenance record, but I do agree the 71 body looks better than a 73.
Lol. Still trying to get them sorted out it cranked when I jump the starter in it but not when I turn the key so I think the ignition has gone bad and I ordered an ignition for the 1973 but it’s different so I had to order one for a 1971 since I was unaware when I ordered it and I can’t return the one for the 1973 since it’s an electrical part. It still has no lights haven’t got a chance to stick the fuse in there since the previous owner also had the wrong amp fuse in there too.

Have you ever tried using a test light? get a little side marker light like for a boat trailer and put a long ground wire on it, with a clip/clamp on that end. be generous, even like 6 feet. It will go to battery ground or some other good solid ground. The shorter wire near the light you either put another clip/clamp on it or just leave a short stripped end.

clamp your ground to the battery. Then use the lead in your hand to test for the presence of power. A great place to try this would be at the fuse block. This way you can actually follow power from the source and eventually see where it’s stopping. Cheap and easy to do.

Good idea. Never thought of doing anything like that. I tested the fuses with my test light that’s about it and it didn’t blow the fuse back out when I changed it so far anyway. But still no lights.

Another thing to check for with the test light. power From the ign switch should go to the spark coil, out of the coil through a ballast resister (1/2 size the pack of cigarettes) and then to the distributor. There should be power on one terminal of the spark coil. If the light is small, it will also see power on the back side of the coil. If there’s no power at the coil, you won’t have spark.

Ok cool I’ll have to look at those too I didn’t know that truck.
