My old man had a 72 super custom 1500 when I was just hitting my teens. It had 4.11s out back and a stroked 350(383 was the actual ci iirc)with headers and it was balanced and blueprinted.
I would push it out of the driveway and go joyriding. I remember him buying brand new tires at the beginning of the summer I turned 14. I melted the rears off in a week so dad went back to Goodyear complaining,so they replaced them. Then I did it again. They finally got wise at Goodyear when they noticed the rubber in the wheel wells and my old man came home and put it on me.
One of the worst lickins I ever got from him. I had it coming though, and to be honest it was worth it.

Lol 14 and fast trucks. No tire will ever be safe. My suburban barly has the power to spin in the snow. Lots of torque but it doesn't spin

I just can't believe the prices they go for here. They are undoubtedly popular.

If you look in the Autotrader or Craigslist here, you'll see a complete waste-bucket example of a '67-'72 C/K LWB commanding a $7000 price tag. A similar F-150 of that vintage would only fetch half that. A similar Dodge D-100? Maybe a third

My uncle had one...'bout a '70 GMC. I think it's one of the rare examples where the Chevrolet is a better looking truck. I don't remember anything remarkable about it. I actually prefer the '60-'66 models.

My first vehicle was a 72 C-10 with a 350/auto. I also had a 72 K-10 350/manual but sold that recently as I wasn't driving it much anymore. Hopefully find another one someday as they are still my favorite style classic truck.

Lol discs are good but you have to replace them so much. I'm gonna get what I can afford lol

If that's going to break you budget, an old vehicle may not be for you.

I'm not exactly rich. My current ride is a 1984 suburban. Its been much more reliable then everyone elses new vehicles. I want an old truck to use as an every day ride

Are '67-'72 C10s cheap in New York?

If so, I need to get a car carrier and take a trip up north.

I see ads for the most clapped out beat to death C10s for way too much

Blown out steering and front suspension, vague 350 from some equally vague smog era low compression dinosaur, crazy thrust angle make it look like it's driving at a 15° angle, destroyed bed, gas tank leaking into the cab, air shocks out back that haven't held air since 1984, two Polycast Berlinetta wheels, one plain steel wheel and one Rallye wheel, painted with house paint over a rattle can primer job over the factory paint.....etc... and they'll ask $7000.

Lmao. I honestly don't even look at the 10's. I'm a c/k 20 fan. I don't see many old vehicles up here...

I use to see many of them up up till the late 80's when I moved away from OK where there isn't rust. They were over 20 years old and many over 200-300k or more miles still running good. You could still get leaded gas then too not to mention ethanol free.

I think that's because of the huge availability of aftermarket reproduction parts for these. It's not hard to clean one of these up into a presentable CST/10 lookalike and sell it for $15K.

I had a 71 K-5 Blazer for years with a 4 speed, 350, 4x4 and 3.08 gears. My 71 had power front disk brakes. Of everything that I own I miss that the most.(Love sometimes will make you do things you regret, sold it. Should have sold the wife) It was beat up on the ouside but was always cool to drive. Easy to work on and parts were CHEAP. LMC truck has everything you need for them.

The only photo I have left of it

When I was 19 I bought a 1968 C10 from my uncle, had a freshened up 327 and a 3 on the tree. Never really got used to the gas tank behind the seat.

I love that body style of truck and want to buy one at some point. I almost bought one this summer. It was a 72 GMC with the factory 402 BB/auto tranny with 104,000 miles on it. Truck was pretty rusty though and did not run as good as advertised with it missing and smoking. I could have bought it for $1,200 and the guy selling it had bought it from the original owner. I sometimes wish I would have bought it anyway. I'll find another one some day.

Gosh, that blazer reminds me of my grandpa's old blazer :') what a beauty she was,he had a 73 and loved it and still talks about it. I'll try to figure out how to post pics later and post some of my suburban. 1984 w/ 350,th400 auto and 3.73 gears. I'm hoping to drop a 4 speed in this summer. Along with headers and a holley carb and a cam. What should I do about the egr valve with headers? How does it hook up?
