Wrong again. Maxlife blend, the one the OP mentioned, is not dexos1 Gen2. .. dave1251, you said a Maxlife High Mileage was cheaper than Magnatec. Nope, not if you're comparing versions with similar performance levels: The Maxlife that DOES meet the same specs as Magnatec, the full syn version of Maxlife, is more expensive than Magnatec.

The dexos1 Gen2 certification includes a timing chain test, among many other tests too over & above SN GF5. Meets are Ford lower specs too.

You're right in taking a different approach to a newer engine than the older engines, as you indicated in your original post too. ... At 75,000 miles, you can switch to a "High Mileage" oil like Valvoline full synthetic with Maxlife Technology as they call it. For now, the engine is still kinda new, so my choice would be to go with the Castrol Magnatec 5w20 with a Fram Ultra oil filter for the most bang for the buck as I've said.

Should be the 3.5 which is a great motor .SIL has a Taurus with over 100 k using whatever I find on sale.OP's Maxlife should be fine

No issues at all and never burned any oil either. Pick your favorite in spec oil brand and quality filter and I think you'll be just fine with a 5K OCI.

I'm not sure what OCI Ford recommends, but I'd be very comfortable going to a 7K or 8K mile OCI with almost any full syn in spec oil. If it were my car and I was paying for it I think I'd run Castrol Magnatec, PP, or Valvoline Advanced full syn, (in 5W-20 or 5W-30) and a Napa Gold filter out to 8K and have no worries at all.

10,000 mi or 1 year (as long as OLM concurs) on 5W20 Conventional as long as it meets Ford Specs which most any name brand does.

I wouldn't be concerned. I've never owned the 3.5L Ti-VCT but the 3.7L Ti-VCT in our Lincoln MKX is very easy on oil. Looks about the same at 10,000 mi as a 5.0 Coyote despite 25% Lower Oil Capacity.

The default OCI if the OLM isnt reset (or is accidentally reset during OCI) is 7500 mi.
