I'm looking at my recent eye exam (prescription) and they did not put the pupilary distance (PD).

If you're ordering from Zenni, you can do it yourself. Look in a mirror and use a ruler. That's what I did. If you get glasses locally, they'll measure it with a ruler.

1000% markup on frames! The prescription glasses industry is a racket. And I don't need an optician (aka a salesperson with a technical name) to adjust my frames; I took my last pair back to them about 10 times trying to get them adjusted correctly and said screw it, I'll do it myself with a heat gun. Got them PERFECT. Fit like a glove. Been working on my new ones today. I even went as far as to adjust the temple lengths for both sides individually. My left eye is like recessed into my head for some reason so the left temple needs to be a bit shorter to fit properly.

Yep, I always knew places like For Eyes, Lens Crafters.... etc have crazy mark ups on varios 'add-ons' when buying glasses.

Its kind of like the rust proofing, roof rack, window tinting, pin striping, mud flaps.... etc when buying a new car at the dealership.

The pair of Nike frame glasses I now have are 6 years old but I had an eye exam last year.

Even easier, take a digital picture with a ruler under your eyes. Go to the JPEG, draw lines with the PAINT application between the lines on the ruler and the center of the pupil. Much, much more accurate.

I got a pair from eyebuydirect.com. 10 days later I have a nice $6.95 pair of glasses I don't mind having my 2 year old rip off my face.

Both my wife & I have been buying glasses from Zenni Opt. for about 5 years. I have had some problems with the lenses falling out of the frames (I'm tough on glasses)but a few dabs of superglue around the edges has solved that problem.

I've heard of these online eye glass outfits previously, there was a "Goggles 4 u" Blog who had all kinds of reviews and success with them...

To me, it sounds borderline "illegal" - ala, penile enhancement drugs from China? Lol.....if you get my drift.....online these guys are obviously more legit, since I'm not being getting SPAMMED by them in my inbox

But yea, very interesting, how they can do this so cheap....so were talking, $10 for frames, lenses, AND shipping.....? What's the verdict....seems almost [censored] near impossible!

But yes....definitely need a new set...

Some prescription strength water goggles, and "eye wear protection" (ala, shop use, shooting use, etc....) would be cool too even! For the weekend projects

It depends on what frames you get, but mine came out to $33 bucks I believe. The standard lenses are 1.57 index plastic and include anti scratch and full UV protection. Anti reflective coating is like 5 bucks!

It does seem too good to be true, but I'm impressed with the outcome. Make sure and upload a pic of yourself to their website to select frames. They have tons of frames to choose from.

Unless you are getting designer frame, the whole sale cost of a plastic low end frame is probably only $5, add another $5 for low end lenses, they get $5 profit easily.

The wholesale cost of a designer from is probably 5 bucks as well. You're paying for the name.

I have one $20 pair from goggles4u and one free* pair from zenni and I love them both.

*free pair was won from the weekly zenni facebook contest. Would have been about $55.
