I am coming up on 2500 miles on my '13 G37x AWD Infiniti. I"d like to dump the f/r diffs to get any shavings and trash out from the break-in and assembly process.

I was checking and they are only spec'd for 80w90 front and rear. An AWD car using conventional in the differentials? I should add the rear is a VLSD also.

I'd sure like some synthetic in there or at least a blend but would really feel better staying in the grade that is specified.

What would you oil gurus recommend?

Not sure why there is both 75w-90 and 80w-90, but there is... I'd probably use Amsoil svg 75w-90, but their 80w-90 is surely good too.

M1 is also a great gear lube available local if the 75 v 80 doesnt bother.

I'll just say that my friend's Infiniti repair shop had used nothing but Amsoil Severe Gear 75w-90 in all G35/G37/M35/FX35 since 2005 without any known issues.

I'm not positive off the top of my head, but I believe my manual specified 80w-90. Nonetheless, the difference between the 75w-90 and 80w-90 is negligible (including in respect to pricing), so I went for the synthetic 75w-90.

Any 80w90 conventional can do the job, and a 75w90 synthetic may improve performance.

The nice thing about 80w90 conventional is that you can often buy it per gallon at a better price than per quart.

True. By the quart jug, though, the synthetic was pretty competitive. The difference between 80w-90 conventional and 75w-90 synthetic up here isn't the usual double the price deal for synthetic. The prices were much, much closer.

I used Mobil 1 75w-90 in my Z that specs the exact same conventional 80w-90/gl-5 you need about a year ago. Valvoline offers a synthetic blend 80w-90 that I used in our FX35. Its their durablend 80w-90 in a blue quart sized bottle. Both of those differentials are exactly the same if I'm not mistaken.

The only difference I could tell between both situations was the price as the durablend was cheaper per quart.

Any synthetic 75w-90/ gl-5 will do just fine.
