Decided to use what Volk is using. Kendall GT1 Full Synthetic with Motorcraft FL500s filter. Why buck against something that someone spent money trying to figure out ?

Thanks for you help

If I had this engine, I would do the motorcraft 5w30 and motorcraft filter every 5k miles (max). I would also use a PCV catch can to keep oil vapors out of the intake tube. Lastly, I would not chip or tune my vehicle to maximize its life.

Nice rig, too bad it has a 3.55 rear. I think I'd swap that out for a 3.73 since you tow a good % of the month. You might take a slight mpg hit, but she'll tow a lot better than with the 3.55 rear. As far as the oil goes, you've been given a lot of choices. Good luck with your truck!

I had a 2011 F150 4x4 with Ecoboost (3.55 rear)and now have a 2013 F150 with the Ecoboost(3.73 rear). The first one got oil changed at 5k with 10w30 PP from Walmart with Ford oil filter.

The 2013 will get oil changed very 5k at the dealer with the MC oil. Why, the first one is free and then every one after they will do it for $17 out the door

Oh, the 3.73 does tow better and yes, I took 1-2 mpg fuel hit by going with this rear end..

IMO its worth the hit if you tow.

I would use Pennzoil Platinum, Pennzoil Ultra or Mobil 1/Mobil 1 Extended Performance...

Any of these is overkill for a 6K OCI... Buy the least expensive one and be happy you are doing whats best for your Ecoboost.
