I'll use an XW-30 oil in a brand new piece of equipment ... to break it in. But I also change it every 2-10 hours, depending, depending. With such a short interval, fuel dilution and shearing simply isn't an issue.
For equipment I really want to run hard ... and I want it to last ... I'll use an XW-40 oil, usually 15W-40.
