Saw a freight train today … one locomotive in front pulling and one in the rear pushing (was smoking a bit) … so is there one car in the train very near the neutral point ?

I see them in the middle sometimes and at the end here with the long container trains, sometimes two in the middle.

I heard it was the drawbar load that is critical?
