Sundays I open up, and lock up the shop. While it's a 7:30 am start, but usually get there around 7 am. Usually work until 6 pm, but the owner showed up today around 5 pm, told me to get going, and enjoy Easter dinner with family, so I left early. But I worked hard from 7:30 till 5:00 so don't feel guilty about leaving early. I got more done than he expected, and more importantly customers were all happy.

I'm like you, I always get to work 30min early every day like clockwork. It's awesome he let you leave early yesterday. I hope you had an awesome Easter Sunday:) I helped a friend of mine out yesterday remodeling a rental property. We worked till about 1am. Now up at 6am, you can probably guess, yep, I've got an uber-strong coffee sitting in front of me right now haha!!:D

Snag: does that safety pin land in a tooth separate from the rocker ratchet ?

Good question. I took some photos. The pin is across the tooth directly above the position of the ratchet. The pin itself does not actually take any of the downward load.
