10% hike on MSRP across all Ford models?

On average over the long term, Ford's vehicles are relatively close to the inflation rate. However higher trim new F150's are as much as 50% more than they should be when compared to a CPI (consumer price index calculator) adjusted, real world price in 2009.

Put another way, my 2009 4x4 Lariat was $38K. My 2024 V8 Lariat was listed at $74 and I paid $66K. However, I had a Ford coupon. Otherwise it would have been $70K. The new truck is not mechanically better either. Smaller V8 with less torque, more bothersome transmission speeds. The exact same 4x4 transfer case and differentials, with the exception of limited slip. The new truck does not have.

Both have the same towing rating.

Any significant 'across the board' price increase might be just another hit during an economic downturn.

The 2009, which in some ways had better equipment. As it actually had limited slip. A rear sway bar, a much tougher steel body, and considerably more torque. Along with not just ventilated front seats, but peltier cooled and bigger seats.

Rumor: I've heard secondhand from a dealership GM that Ford will increase MSRP 10% across the board this year on current models. No other info besides that. Sounds like BS to me since sales are already sluggish and they're not necessities--people can go without. Anyone else heard this?
So A GM dealership said Ford is raising prices 10%. Sounds like a dirty sales tactic to pressure you not to look at Ford. I wouldn't step foot in that GM dealership if that is the case.

With the discounts being offered on 2024 and 2025 models I don't think Ford can get 10% more. Maybe sticker price increases, dealer cost stays the same?

Good luck if they think they can get it. If they do I might buy GM stock.

Inflation report just out today said new vehicles are negative last month and negative -0.3% over the last 12 months. This while headline core inflation is still over 3%.

Direct from the BLS.

Everyone is broke, just like Ford. :ROFLMAO:

I've seen several Ford dealers in Colorado already offering discounts/ incentives.
