1 Oil for several vehicles?

I was told T6 changed their additive package and it is worse. Also some manufacturers of 6.0 injectors won't warranty them if t6 is used thats why I stay away from it. I do use it in my classics though
Diesel & Gasoline standards change over time. However, that doesn't mean it's worse. I'd like to know which company won't warranty their injectors for the 6.0L if using the T6. That is quite bizzar.

Seems like there are plenty that have no idea what they're talking about. Rotella meets Ford's F1 specification. That specification is protecting the 1200 pound feet of torque in the H.O. so?

Regardless, look over the list, you have other options if you don't like Rotella. Just know that's an opinion not founded by facts.

ok, so looks like ill stick to 5w-40 for my diesels and 15w40 diesel oil for my classics and mowers since it has a high zddp package and they are not used in the cold. I just bought a lot of triax oil for my diesels I gotta use up anyway.

Rotella T6 5W-40 is a perfect single oil for your 06 6.0 Powerstroke, 03 VW TDI, 69 Mustang, 74 Bronco and mowers in South Jersey year round.

• Meets Ford WSS-M2C171-F1 with strict shear requirements due your Powerstroke’s HPOP to ensure proper HEUI function. Ford approval means no reputable rebuilder voids warranty.

• ~1200 ppm ZDDP (CK-4 max) for superior wear protection on your flat-tappet classics and mowers.

• Proven winner in 2003 TDIs—endless strong BITOG used oil analysis.

• 5W-40 protects down to -20°F while still handling towing up grades in summer. 15W-40 is only recommend for temps above positive 20°F.

Ignore additive-change rumors; current CK-4 T6 is solid with full approvals. One jug for all four. Done.

Edit: Any 5W-40 or 0W-40 that meets Ford’s WSS-M2C171-F1 should work well in all your various engines year round. The image attached lists all of them all for you and here’s the link to it. https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubricants.com/additionalinfo/dieseloilsWSSM2C171F1.pdf

5w-40 HDEO for everything if you want one oil. But if you want to keep costs down then the 15w-40's can be a little cheaper. I believe 3 of the big oil companies are currently having an HDEO rebate.

So I have several vehicles and more oil brands and types than I care to have. I was looking at the supertech synthetic diesel 15w40. You guys think this would be ok to run in my 2006 f350 6.0 diesel, 2003 vw tdi, classic bronco and mustang, and small equipment? Id love to buy 1 oil and stick to it. Looks like the additive package would be good for diesels and flat tappet cams.
The only over the counter oil that fits the bill that I can think of is Delvac 1300. It cover most bases, as it is a HDEO, and SP rated, for modern gas direct injection engines. 10w30 or 15w40. I understand that you cars might not have DI, but would suit for an engine that did.

It does not have a MA/MA2 rating for wet clutches however.

Rotella, does not advertise an S rating on many of their oils, or JASO MA

Delo 5w40 is dual rated

I use HPL CC HDMO 5W-40 in my:
2014 F150 6.2
1966 Bronco 170” I6
18kW air cooled generator
Lawn equipment
Will also go in my sons 2012 GMC Canyon when my stash of Delo XSP 5W-40 runs out.

It’s not otc but so far works great & the guys at HPL use it in their 7.3’s with out issues on 15k OCI’s.

Sorry for being terse, but it seemed like you might not have read OP’s request and the follow up info thoroughly before your comment. He’s looking for 1 oil to use for all engines year round in Jersey. Delvac 1300 only comes in 10W-30 and 15W-40. Neither of those are one oil for all engines year round.

Additionally, the 15W-40 does not claim to meet Ford WSS-M2C171-F1, though it might just be a matter of Mobil not seeking that OEM designation for that grade of the oil, instead of a formulation issue. That said, i would go with one of the dozens of 5W-40 oils in the OEM approved, as his injectors and viscosity shear seemed to be a major concern to him.

No problem....but it does hold the Ford spec and they are year round for all his applications

If you’re worried there are several

dual rated diesel/gas oils. Valvoline Premium Blue 5w40 would be my choice. I currently use Castrol 0w40 in 4 vehicles (2.5L VW, 5.6L Nissan, 4.0L and 4.7L Jeeps).

Delvac super 1300 or even Better(((( DELVac 15w40 Extreme Synthetic))))) Both oils have as strong a clutch grip as any MA2 motorcycle oil on the market.

The Delvac extreme in the 15w40 meets Allison auto transmission spec, but excellent function in a motorcycle.

There is also a 10w30 , but ive never used and it does not meet all the same specs

I have been using Rotella T 15w40 in everything I own including motorcycles without any issues. My wifes
Newer Chev sonic calls for synthetic 5w30 so I don't use it in that as they are prone to sludge build up.
I find it harder to get Rotella T in some places and will use Chevron in its place.

For over a decade I have used Mobil 10W40 in everything. I only recently changed this practice for two reasons.

1) Cost vs value

2) Valvoline Restore and Protect
